The director at Orphanage number 4 has been particularly successful in attracting additional funding from various charitable and external sources. The facilities at this institution are generally in a better condition than those found elsewhere but still require further substantial investment. The children at this orphanage are ‘officially' classified by the local authorities as orphans. They all have state paperwork which will allow them obtain employment or go on to further education when they leave the orphanage. The orphanage receives slightly more per student as they qualify for full state funding. Money is often required for supplies of soap, girls' hygienic materials, toothpaste and shampoo. The current budget is just not sufficient to cater for demand.
